If you are hired to work full time at Seggie you will be involved in 8 weeks of camp for kids ages 7-15. You will also be required to attend our week long training session that generally takes place the last week of July. As a full time, paid staff you will earn wages for these 9 weeks plus an additional 3 weeks of School Groups if you are available to work during the month of June. So in a best case scenario you will be eligible to earn 12-13 weeks of wages at your given salary.
Program Director: Responsible for the overall program and activities at Camp throughout the summer. Duties include organizing and running camp wide games & activities, supervising Skill times, working with others to ensure Chapel times are smooth and effective, ensuring a God honoring attitude, handling discipline issues with campers, supervising Cabin Leaders and working closely with the Executive Directors on overall camp management. Assistant Program Director: Responsible to work closely with the Program Director in running the overall summer program. Discipleship Director: Responsible for the overall discipleship of the campers throughout the summer and into the fall. Duties include coordinating morning and evening chapel times, providing spiritual presentations and teaching through various means such as preaching, puppets, drama, videos, etc. Providing spiritual resources to the Cabin Leaders for use at Cabin Quiet times. Interviewing and talking with Campers who make decisions of faith and provide them with discipleship materials. This person would work closely with the Program Directors, assisting them whenever possible and coordinating activities accordingly. He/She would also be in contact with the Island churches to research youth activities that would be of interest to Campers. This is a full time paid position that lasts for 13 weeks. Head and Assistant Cooks: Responsible to work with other kitchen staff in providing three healthy meals and one snack a day to the campers and staff. Duties include planning, preparing and cooking meals, also includes ordering supplies and ensuring the kitchen is stocked with efficient equipment. Administrative Assistant: Responsible to work closely with the Executive Directors in overseeing the office. Duties include processing registrations, corresponding with parents and all the other paper work that is included in camp work. This is a full time paid position for 15 weeks. *This position is filled.
Property Director: Responsible to oversee that the facilities are well kept and maintained. Duties include working with 2-4 other Staff members in cleaning bathrooms, dining hall, chapel area and swimming pool; ordering cleaning products and maintaining dish washing system. Also he/she must oversee lawn care.. He/she will be asked to take a Pool Care Course offered in Spring. This is a full time paid position, with a share wage option, that lasts for 13 weeks. Hospitality Director: Responsible to oversee the dining hall activities, efficiency and cleanliness. This person will run activities during meal times to ensure that meal times are events unto themselves. Activities would include games, songs, theme meals, dress up dinners, yellow cup, lost and found, cabin clean up announcements, etc. They are basically a program director for the dining hall. He/she will also be in charge of the dish pit and bathroom scheduling and will be responsible for inventorying cleaning chemicals and products. Senior Cabin Leader: Responsible to supervise a cabin of eight campers and one Jr. Cabin Leader. Duties include interacting with and demonstrating God's love to campers, running a skill time, participating in camp games and activities, sharing devotionals, helping with camp upkeep and maintenance, assisting the Directors whenever required, attending staff meetings and training sessions, providing a good example and feedback to Jr. Cabin Leaders, etc. He/She must be 16 years old by May of the camp season. Junior Cabin Leader: Responsible to assist a Senior Cabin Leader in overseeing a cabin of eight campers. Duties are quite similar to that of a Senior Cabin Leader's only he/she will be not be directly managing campers, but will be assisting. Head Life Guard: Responsible to oversee the summer aquatic program. Duties may include teaching swimming lessons, life-guarding during pool & beach times and up-keeping the pool. This person will NOT be responsible for a cabin as teaching, guarding and pool maintenance is a full time job. Must have current NLS certification and Water Instructors training. Aquatic Staff: Responsible to oversee a Cabin and to work with the Head Lifeguard in running a summer aquatic program. Duties will include lifeguarding and Cabin Leading. First Aid Provider: Responsible to be a medical resource on camp throughout the day and evenings, and ensure medications are properly administered. Medical experience and/or training of some kind is required such as Red Cross First Aid Training or LNA, etc. This is a volunteer position and can last from one to eight weeks depending on applicants preference. Junior Staff: Responsible to help out in any way possible during a Camp Week. Duties may include Jr. Cabin Leader responsibilities, maintenance, kitchen prep work, dish duty, overseeing a Skill time, participating in games, etc. This is a volunteer position and generally lasts for a couple of weeks throughout the summer.
